Special Funds

The Lawrence Schools Foundation hosts a number of “special” funds which benefit the students and programs of Lawrence Public Schools. These funds were started by individuals or businesses to provide additional resources for extra-curricular activities or to help fund certain needs of our students.

Some of the funds are school specific, while others reach across the district.

Examples of school specific funds include the Zicker Music Fund, which supports music endeavors at West Middle School and Free State High School, and the McClendon Computer Science Fund for computer science education at Lawrence High SchoolDistrict-wide funds include Homegrown Lawrence (school gardens), Mid-Year Classroom Supplies, Marathon Clubs and most recently the I.C.A.N fund to assist with basic needs of students who may need clothes that fit, pants for a job interview, shampoo or soap, etc…

If you are interested in contributing to an existing fund or establishing a new fund, please contact us at 785-330-1726 or djohnsto@usd497.org. You can make a donation online or at our office at:
