The Brian Shirk Memorial Scholarship was established by friends and family, in memory of Brian Shirk, a Lawrence Free State High School graduate, who died in a car crash this past year. Awarded in the amount of $500 on an ongoing, annual basis to a graduating senior from Lawrence Free State High School based on the following criteria:

• student must have a minimum grade point average of 2.5
• student is involved in school activities, including football
• student is planning to attend any 2-year college/university
